Soundtrack Presentation Guidelines
Learning Target Goal
Students will understand how to interpret literature, film, and music. Students will also understand how to make connections and create a soundtrack. Students will understand how to apply facial expressions, eye contact, and tone when presenting. Common Core Standards Speaking & Listening SL.9-10.4 Present information, findings, and supporting evidence clearly, concisely, and logically such that listeners can follow the line of reasoning and the organization, development, substance, and style are appropriate to purpose, audience, and task. SL.9-10.5 Make strategic use of digital media (e.g., textual, graphical, audio, visual, and interactive elements) in presentations to enhance understanding of findings, reasoning, and evidence and to add interest. SL.9-10.6 Adapt speech to a variety of contexts and tasks, demonstrating command of formal English when indicated or appropriate. Writing W.9-10.1.A Introduce precise claim(s), distinguish the claim(s) from alternate or opposing claims, and create an organization that establishes clear relationships among claim(s), counterclaims, reasons, and evidence. W.9-10.2 Write informative/explanatory texts to examine and convey complex ideas, concepts, and information clearly and accurately through the effective selection, organization, and analysis of content. W.9-10.2.A Introduce a topic; organize complex ideas, concepts, and information to make important connections and distinctions; include formatting (e.g., headings), graphics (e.g., figures, tables), and multimedia when useful to aiding comprehension. December 20, 2023 Directions: Research, analyze, and interpret literature or film and connect it to 3 songs of your choice. Create a soundtrack presentation connecting literature or film to music. Your slide show should have an introduction, background information, 3 songs with explanations and connections, a conclusion, and a source slide. You are welcome to use music in different languages as well. Do not use songs on the current film's soundtrack. The goal is to create a new soundtrack. Options 1. Book 2. Character 3. Poem 4.
