Students will understand how to interpret characters and movie scenes as a group. Students will also understand how to bring the characters and movie scenes to life. Students will incorporate facial expressions, eye contact, gestures, tone, and body language when presenting. Common Core Standards Reading for Information RL.11-12.1 Cite strong and thorough textual evidence to support analysis of what the text says explicitly as well as inferences drawn from the text, including determining where the text leaves matters uncertain. Create Standard 2: Apply skills and knowledge to create in the arts. ART.T.II.HS.1 Construct imaginative scripts and collaborate with actors to refine scripts so that story and meaning are conveyed to an audience. Option A Directions: Research movie scenes in a variety of genres. Select a scene as a group. Silent films are permitted as well. Analyze and interpret the characters and movie scene. Prepare a 3 - 5 minute presentation. The presentation must be memorized. You are welcome to change the lines to fit your needs. You may perform your presentation live or create a video. The reenactment should be clean, family friendly, administrator friendly, and professional. Profanity is not permitted. Option B (Attendance) Directions: Research monologues in a variety of genres. Prepare a 1 - 2 minute presentation. A monologue is a speech given by a single character in a story. You may perform your monologue live or create a video. The performance should be clean, family friendly, administrator friendly, and professional. Option C (Attendance) Directions: Select a film of your choice and create an original one-minute movie trailer. (Minimum 1 Minute) Rubric: 600 Points Deadline: March 19, 2024 Monologue / Scene Selection: 100 Points Character / Scene Interpretation: 100 Points Partner or Group Collaboration: 100 Points Script or Scene Memorization: 100 Points Project Video / Character Interpretation: 100 Points Performance: 100 Points Analysis 1.
